The Resident is an American Medical Dramatelevision series created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore and Roshan Sethi.

It stars Matt Czuchry as Dr.

Conrad Hawkins, the titular resident, Emily VanCamp as Nicolette Nevin, the best nurse ever, Manish Dayal as Devon Pravesh, a Wide-Eyed Idealist intern, Bruce Greenwood as Randolph Bell a chief of surgery with an increasing propensity to commit medical errors, Shaunette Renée Wilson as Mina Oakfor, a surgical resident with a brusque bedside manner, and Malcolm-Jamal Warner as A.J.

Austin, a crack cardiothoracic surgeon with "an ego the size of Texas." In the show's first season, Melina Kanakaredes played Lane Hunter, a sweet-talking oncologist with a dark side, and Merrin Dungey played the hospital CEO.

On January 17, 2023 after six seasons on Fox, the show ended.
